Retired folks, city transplants, laid off workers are all looking for their next gig. Should they pursue banjo playing or photography? If not taking refuge in a warmer American clime, "what am I going to do to get through a Canadian winter?" could be on their mind. Collage is a very accessible creative endeavour. There is no pressure to draw images. Pick images, draw lines and glue - that's it.
Gwen saw an ad that said "art school mentality - no marks." That's it. Just put images beside each other and see if they "go together." It could be dissonance that you are representing, harmony or even uncertainty. Collage is a form of play, trial and error.
All are invited. Bring your own images - match books you've collected, old photos, postcards, mag pics that you just love, old newspaper announcements, found objects, etc. A bin of images will be provided if you don't have your own. You will walk away creating a collage that "says something" to you and maybe gives you some insight for the road ahead.
Age range - 18+
